Good Deed Foundation

Good Deed Foundation is a launchpad for new and exciting social initiatives in Estonia.

In 4 years the foundations has fostered the development of more than ten social initiatives. The best known are the Estonian homeless football team and the educational program Youth to School, which takes after Teach First (UK) and Teach For America (USA). Common to all foundation's initiatives, they pick out the ideas and solutions that have the greatest potential to positively transform Estonian society. The Good Deed Foundation helps to realise these ideas by applying the venture philanthropy model, i.e. by engaging long-term financial support and expert volunteers.

First initiatives

In summer 2007, 6 projects were started by young social entrepreneurs in cooperation with Good Deed Foundation. A total of 24 youths participate in the program together with 10 mentors, who help realise their ideas in various fields:

Together: volunteer club that brings together Russian and Estonian youths
Green School: environmental awareness program
Forum Theatre: Estonian-Russian youth integration project through culture
Sunny Kennel: support for homeless dogs and cats
Dare to Learn, Old and Young Together!: different generations sharing knowledge
Disability in the Maze of Time: bringing together youths with disability
